MONTROSE,Colo. Former Montrose Deputy District Attorney has to serve two years of probation and undergo 100 hours of public service after pleading guilty to driving while ability impaired.
John Mehlig was charged with DUI and careless driving after a traffic accident last year. At the time he was still employed as a prosecutor.
Montrose police officers found Mehlig behind the wheel of his vehicle after it hit a light pole.
The accident caused minor damage to the truck and the power pole. No injuries were reported.
According to the Montrose Daily Press, Mehlig expressed extreme remorse for his actions.
