"Fuel up to play 60" program coming to Clifton

CLIFTON, Colo (KKCO) The in-school nutrition and physical activity program is sponsored by the Western Dairy Association and the Denver Broncos. The program helps kids and schools increase access to healthy foods, and opportunities for physical activity.

It also inspires kids to "fuel up" with healthy foods, and "get up and play" for at least 60 minutes a day.

Miles, the Denver Broncos mascot, a Broncos cheerleader, and possibly a Denver Broncos player will be at the event.

"it's been really neat watching the transition that school nutrition has made over the last five years; I encourage parents and families to get out and attend some of these events," says Dan Sharp, Director of Nutrition Services for School District 51.

The public is invited. It's happening Thursday, July 12th, 10am, at Clifton Elementary school. That's at 3276 F Road in Clifton.

For more information on the event, contact Erin Johnson at (720) 356-3168. To learn more about "fuel up to play 60" and enroll or get involved, visit www.fueluptoplay60.com, or www.westerndairyassociation.com.
