Your commute home is not getting any cheaper.

Prices at the pump are going up, especially in the northeastern part of the country.

The national average price of a gallon of regular gas increased about a penny Tuesday to $3.84 a gallon, according to AAA.

ColoradoGasPrices.com reports the average gallon in Colorado costs $3.64.

Prices rose in August because Hurricane Isaac disrupted operations at Gulf Coast refineries.

They were expected to drop quickly once the gulf region's facilities came back online, but one oil price analyst said the price drop is being delayed because Isaac hit so close to Sept. 15, the day that the US switches from a more expensive summer blend of gasoline to a cheaper winter blend.

Experts say drivers should start to see prices at the pump go down as early as next week.
