A Glenwood Springs woman is in critical condition after allegedly being shot by her boyfriend.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. Update: Audrey Lowndes died shortly after 6:00pm on Tuesday.
James Mccabe Mallin now faces charges of first degree murder.

A Glenwood Springs woman is in critical condition after allegedly being shot by her boyfriend.

Around 12:29 a.m., Glenwood Springs Police responded to a report of a gunshot with a female victim at a mobile home park in the South Grand Avenue area.

The woman was discovered with a wound to the back of her head.

Three male residents of the mobile home were detained and interviewed about the incident.

Later, police arrested the victim's boyfriend, 28-year-old James Mccabe Mallin, for attempted first-degree murder, among other charges.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is processing the scene for evidence.
