GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Heavy traffic and winter weather is expected along the I-70 mountain corridor today and tomorrow.

Motorists traveling eastbound on the interstate should allow for extra time during peak traveling times, which are from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on both days. There is a 90% chance of winter weather today beginning around 3:00 p.m.

Over 40 snowplows are ready for the weather rolling in Sunday evening with an expected deposit of two to four inches of snow along Vail Pass.

Metering may be implemented prior to the Eisenhower Tunnel to prevent traffic from backing up inside of it.

Colorado Department of Transportation encourages all drivers using the stretch of roadway to be prepared for the possibility of a storm.
