DENVER (AP) -- A civic engagement plan by Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper is beginning to take shape with feedback by residents across the state on what they want government spending priorities to be.
The initiative called TBD -- for "To Be Determined" -- has gotten skepticism for its vagueness. Republicans worry that Hickenlooper is trying to gain support for a tax increase. Hickenlooper's office says there's no pre-conceived plan.
Organizers have held more than 60 statewide community meetings with more than 1,200 residents. Areas that have gotten the most support include providing funding for home and community-based services for the elderly and disabled, maintenance of the state transportation system, and managed care for Medicaid.
A report will be presented to lawmakers and the governor in November.
