Holmes being segregated, in court Monday

AURORA, Colo (KKCO) Authorities say Holmes is being held in "administrative" segregation. There have been no direct threats against him, but he's been removed from the general population due to the high-profile nature of the case. According to jail officials, holmes is not on suicide watch, and has not had any visitors since he entered the Araphoe county jail Friday. Holmes has declined all interviews on the advice of his attorneys. Legal experts say James Holmes is facing a long legal process.

Lawyers say "competency" is a large debate in this case. Competency means whether the suspect knows what's going on, and knows why they're in court facing charges. Experts say if Holmes is not competent to stand trial, the legal process will come to a grinding halt until he's restored to competency. Experts say Holmes will face a laundry list of charges, including 12 counts of first-degree murder. He's due in court Monday morning for a simple advisement procedure.
