Horses rounded up in Western Colorado

NEAR RANGELY, Colo. (KKCO) For weeks, the agency has been delivering water to two groups of horses on Texas Mountain in the West Douglas herd area south of Rangely due to dry conditions. The BLM has said that's not sustainable. The decision prevents any action until Tuesday. Some animal advocates dispute notions that wild horses can't survive there, saying they have survived droughts before.

    This is a bogus roundup. I have hiked extensively in the area for over three weeks.. There are many seeps and springs and very healthy looking horses. The only reason BLM is watering the horses is to use an "emergency" excuse to get rid of these horses as they do not want to manage them. This is a unique, historical herd and people need to know that this is a travesty. BLM has lied from the beginning about this because they can. How sad that poeople will not get to see these wonderful bands. Texas Mountain has great forage and plenty of water. Shame on BLM. I have many pictures that prove they have lied. One BLM employee stated that the springs have all dried up. I was up there yesterday and hiked to a healthy seep that went quite a ways down. I did see two horses that were utiizing the seeps.
