GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) Members of Village Nine HOA in
Orchard Mesa say their homeowners association board has been unresponsive to their concerns for months. Because of that, they took to the streets this weekend getting signatures to petition for a meeting with their HOA board. 320 homes are affected, and many of those homeowners say they're now wondering why they pay $95 per year in HOA fees.

"They force us to pay HOA fees but there doesn't seem to be any accountability to where that money goes, and no communication, zero communication from our own board to us; so we'd like to see that change," says Karen Green, who was petitioning to get an HOA meeting.

The residents say the problem isn't from a lack of water, but no water pressure because the pumps aren't working.

They're hoping the petition will draw attention from the HOA and allow them to elect a new HOA board.

Hey Anonymous you would be upset if it was you. Also Orchard Mesa is a very nice place to live. $95 dollars with no clear purpose is unsettling. That is why I don't live in a HOA.

That is one reason HOA should be made illegal in the state of Colorado. These people do have the right to have the HOA disbanded. They can put in the ditches and run their own pumps.
