LOVELAND, Colo (AP) -- A judge has rejected a request from an advocacy group to force a speedy election on whether to place a two-year moratorium on hydraulic fracturing in city limits.

The Loveland City Council voted against putting the moratorium language on ballots that will be counted Tuesday, and the judge ruled that action was justified.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, a special election could be required if the ruling is overturned.
