GRAND JUNCTION (KKCO) Claudette Konola, a Democrat, will run again for State Senate. It's a post she tried for back in 2010. Konola filed the paperwork over the weekend, and she says she'll publicly announce her run later this week.
At the public announcement, scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10th at Eagle Rim, Konola says she'll answer questions about why she's running again for the State Senate seat.
The District 7 Senate seat now has a candidate from each major party announced, even though the election is a year away. Back in June, Republican Ray Scott announced he would run for the seat. The post is currently held by Steve King, but he's not running for re-election. King announced late this summer he is running for Mesa County Sheriff.
