Lawmakers will also begin work later than usual on Monday The House and the Senate will convene at 1 p.m.

Gun tests in killing could be back Monday

Results could be available as soon as Monday on tests to determine if the weapon used to kill Clements was the same one recovered from a suspect in Texas.

El Paso County sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jeff Kramer said Saturday that tests were under way on the weapon recovered from 28-year-old Evan Spencer Ebel, who was wounded in a shootout with Texas authorities on Thursday and later died of his injuries.

Colorado investigators on Saturday for the first time called Ebel a suspect in the killing last Tuesday of 58-year-old Tom Clements, the executive director of the state's Department of Corrections. Clements was gunned down as he opened the front door of his home.

The suspect's father, Jack Ebel, issued a statement Saturday saying he was "profoundly saddened by the recent events involving my son" and asked for privacy as the family grieved, according to The Denver Post.
