Skiers, snowboarders, and snow bunnies are off and running for the High Country as ski season continues to kick off in Colorado.

Loveland Ski Area in Georgetown -- about 45 miles west of Denver -- opened yesterday, starting their 75th season on the slopes.

Snowmaking crews have been busy getting one of the runs ready for skiers. There's about a foot and a half of the white powder for skiers to glide down.

"I'm so happy to be here on opening day like I usually am and I've been checking the website about five times a day to see when they would open and actually it looks better than I anticipated so the snow people did a great job getting this ready," said skier Carol Wedgwood.

Arapahoe Basin-- about 20 miles west of Loveland Ski Area-- was the first Colorado resort to start the season when it opened last Wednesday.
