PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities have released the name of a man suspected in a fatal shooting in Pueblo.
Police say 25-year-old Matthew Zach Aldaz confronted his ex-girlfriend and 39-year-old Thomas Abeyta -- identified as the woman's "male companion" -- and fired several shots just before 2 a.m. Saturday. The Pueblo Chieftain (http://bit.ly/Q7YRTg ) says Abeyta was killed and several bullets were lodged in nearby homes and a convenience store.
The woman was not injured.
Investigators say Aldaz was speeding away from the shooting when he crashed. He was ejected from the vehicle and is being treated for serious injuries.
