GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO)-- We're told the fireworks show is contingent on weather, as well as local fire conditions and firefighting resources. County officials will continue to watch closely to ensure that the event can be conducted in a safe manner. If conditions change, the public will be notified immediately.

"it's the kick-off to our Mesa County Fair, and we're so excited that the weather conditions have changed a little bit from the last few weeks, to make it a little better situation to have a fireworks show," says JoCarole Haxel, Mesa County Fairgrounds manager.

The fireworks show is next Tuesday a t 9:15 pm at the Mesa County Fairgrounds. That's at 2785 Highway 50 on Orchard Mesa.

The use of individual fireworks is still banned in Mesa County.
