DENVER (AP) -- The National Weather Service says wind chills could reach between minus-25 and minus-30 degrees in eastern Colorado early Thursday.
Yuma, Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties along the border with Kansas are under a wind chill warning until 11 a.m. The Weather Service says very cold air and strong winds will combine to create wind chill values below minus-25, making frostbite possible in less than 15 minutes.
Seventeen other counties east of the Continental Divide are under a wind chill advisory, also till 11 a.m. Forecasters say very cold air and light winds will push wind chill values below minus-18, making frostbite possible in 30 minutes.
