New DA: Slower is better in Colo. theater shooting

DENVER (AP) -- The lawyer taking over prosecution of the Colorado theater shooting case says it will be a priority but he won't rush the case.

Republican George Brauchler was elected last month to replace the term-limited Carol Chambers. He told Denver's KMGH-TV that a "slow process is a better process" in a case where the government may pursue the death penalty.

Twenty-four-year-old James Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding dozens of others inside an Aurora theater on July 20. He hasn't entered a plea yet.

Brauchler is a former military prosecutor. He takes office Jan. 8, the day after the beginning of a weeklong hearing to determine if Holmes will stand trial.

I'd have to AGREE !! It's always better to be sure EVERY I is dotted, and EVERY T is crossed. THEN the next step is to insure that a PROPER and JUST sentence is pursued AND CARRIED OUT. (and I don't mean a clean Diaper change)
