COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A new wildfire in the foothills west of Denver is forcing the evacuation of dozens of homes.
The fire was burning near Pine Wednesday afternoon. Jefferson County sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said it's small but it's a concern because the flame lengths are high and it's headed toward a ridge.
Hot and windy conditions in much of Colorado are making it easy for new fires to start and spread.
