PAONIA, Colo (KKCo) 87-year old Carol Basford of Paonia was involved in a fatal accident Friday night after her car collided with a train. That's according to the Paonia Fire Department and Police Department. It happened around 1:44 pm at a train crossing on the 300 Block of Delta Avenue. Authorities originally called life flight when they arrived to the scene of the accident, but they cancelled the call when it was determined Basford had passed. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
