Parker police officer dragged by car

PARKER, Colo. (AP) -- A police officer in Parker suffered minor injuries after he was dragged by a car as a suspect tried to escape.

Police say the officer stopped a driver for a traffic violation and saw a man hiding in the back seat. When police tried to question him, police said the man jumped in the driver's seat and took off, dragging the officer over the median, through a fence and down an embankment. The man ran and police later tracked him down and arrested him.

Authorities say Justin Lamb is facing charges of assault, vehicle theft, reckless endangerment and eluding police.

The injured officer was not identified.
