Poll: Romney, Obama dead even

WASHINGTON D.C. (AP) That's according to a new national survey, which finds the two have roughly the same favorable rating. According to the CNN/ORC international poll released Friday, 49% of likely voters say they're backing President Obama, while 47% support Romney. The survey has a sampling error of two points, which means right now, the race is a statistical tie. President Obama holds a bigger lead, 52% to 43% when you widen the poll out from likely voters to registered voters in general, but more of those people will stay home on election day.

    Right now we have the greatest president in my lifetime. He has ended on unncessary war and is in the process of ending another, he has eliminated Bin Ladin and destroyed Al Quida leadership, he has implemented a national health care system that has given millions of people access to health care at an affordable cost, he has seen us thru the worst recession created by republicans since the great depression and saved hundreds of thousands of job in the auto industry. What is the republican plan? $5 trillion in tax cuts to the top 1%. This will somehow result in more jobs. They've been saying this for 20 years with no results except the rich get richer and the middle class gets poorer. Obama 2012!!!!

      Sorry to burst your bubble but it was Navy Seals who eliminated Bin Ladin, or possibly a doppleganger. The national healthcare system is, and will continue to be an absolute disaster. If it was such a great bill why did the democrat cowards have to sneak it through under cover of darkness and holiday on Christmas Eve 2009?! The recession has been turned into one statistically much worse than the so called "Great Depression" of the thirties, Government Motors is facing bankruptcy yet once again. In short, Marxism sucks, we are tired of it, and Jimmah Carter II only has a few months left.......Nobama 2012!!!!

        Bin Laden has been dead for 10 years. Where is his body? The Seals who took out Bin Laden mysteriously died (17 of them) in a helicopter crash Aug. 6, 2011. Dead men tell no tales. Why do you think Benazir Bhutto had to be eliminated? She knew about the Bin Laden lie and opened her mouth. Bin Laden is a lie to perpetuate the war on terror. CNN with a whole camera crew was able to track him down in 2001 but our military and CIA couldn’t? Please. Bill Cooper predicted the 911 event a few months prior (see on you tube) and he also was assassinated.

      You ought to go back to the couch and smoking dope. Obama has done nothing to come close to the title of "greatest president". He does deserve the title of "worse president" though. He has cost this country trillions, has made unemployment soar, has intentions of gutting the Constitution, is anti-gun, is anti-business, and has no idea what it means to lead a country. He wants to create a socialist state out of our democracy and is ruining the entire country in the process. Obama has to go.

    Obama started out with 44% of the votes, those on welfare always "sell" their votes to the democrats, those on welfare don't have to work for a living, just vote for a living. Mitt Romney isn't counting on those who vote for a living, he's counting on those who work for a living to get tired of having to support those who vote for a living. If you support obama you can count on higher taxes on those who work for a living to help pay for your voting for obama. But what happens when there are no longer enough of those who work for a living to support the lifestyles of those who vote for a living? I believe that is something none of us want to find out.

      To avoid paying taxes, Romney has accounts in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland. Of course, it's all "legal". Obama 2012.

        Socialism has been around for over 200 years, and for over 200 years, it has failed, unless, of course, you want to count North Korea as the best example socialism has to offer. The last two years, Romney has payed over seven million dollars in income taxes, how much have you payed? how much has obama payed? If what Romney is doing is legal, then whats wrong with that? Much, and I do mean much, of what obama is doing is illegal, for obama to be the greatest president in your lifetime means you haven't been alive very long.

        So what if you're 63 years old. Stupid doesn't have an age limit obviously. So, if it's legal, why shouldn't a person put money into a Cayman Island account. Especially if this country's financial laws are so restrictive to business. When the laws get changed, I can bet that lots of companies will bring their money back here. Obama is a low life who has been doing lots of illegal things, like not following the Constitution, Fast and Furious, Federal funding of anti-guns movements, etc. Romney is going to be a great president.

    I wouldn't take any poll seriously until after the debats, expecially in a swing state like ours. I also want to know about jobs plans, I've been unemployed for years, and can't even find a part-time job that will deal my disability, but in 2007 we had more jobs than people! So Dems and GOP, tell me your job plan and then I'll make my choice.

      Even though a business cannot discriminate someone with a disability under the ADA, your best bet might be a governmental job versus a private sector job, as liability and workman's compensation are of a prime concern for the private sector, but not so much with the governmental jobs, in addition to affirmative action slots with governmental jobs.

          Er no, the elimination (or near elimination) of bureaucrats does not lead to "anarchy" any more that "self defense" is "vigilantism". There are lots of ways to get things done, armies of over-paid, unionized mandarins are not particularly efficient, effective or rational.

          Well when you make a blanket statement to eliminate all government jobs, that entails all police, fire, federal law enforcement, taxation for infrastructure, etc. it just seemed that you indicated a lawless, road warrior type world, I suppose you meant something else?

    You are aware that people are starting to lie to pollsters. Also the last national election, the Polls were all wrong. These polls and the evaluations from the AP mean absolutely nothing. Where are the policy issues?
