DENVER, Colo. Ricardo Baca, a marijuana editor for the Denver Post, tells CNN that the news paper is increasing its coverage of the newly legal drug.

He says many reporters will be on the ground covering every aspect of pot in every part of Colorado from Denver to Aspen to Southern Colorado and even here on the Western Slope.

On January 1st, it will be legal for retailers in some Colorado cities to open up shop and start selling marijuana to people ages 21 and over..

There's even a job opening for a pot critic at the Denver Post.

Ricardo Baca says he's still taking resumes for the opening and so far he's gotten 30 of them.

Here in Grand Junction, the city council banned the retail sale of marijuana.

This means Grand Junction now joins more than 50 communities in Colorado that have banned retail sales of pot.
