DENVER (AP) Investigators are asking for the public's help after a rash of fires that destroyed cars and structures around Lakewood last week.

Michelle French, a spokeswoman for West Metro Fire Rescue, tells The Denver Post (http://bit.ly/1abVwtu) that 15 vehicles and a motorcycle were destroyed in four fires within a 2-mile radius and within a two-hour period early Tuesday. The fires along West Alameda Avenue and west of South Carr Street also heavily damaged a single-family home, destroyed a carport and melted vinyl siding on two buildings in a condo complex.

Authorities have not released a description of a possible suspect or said what was used to fuel the fires.

French says "we are asking for people to rack their brains, even if it seems minor. We're really pushing, looking for tips."
