A dog training facility in Fort Collins is under investigation after a puppy in its care was seriously injured.
Dog owner Tiffany Brown says her German shepherd suffered blunt force trauma, and veterinarians had to remove its eye.
Brown had brought the dog in to the American Dog School for the weekend, thinking he would be safe in Tami Carrasco's home, where she runs obedience classes and pet boarding.
But when Brown came to pick up her puppy, she says he was moaning and in pain.
Doctors say the dog suffered multiple skull fractures from blunt trauma.
Carrasco says she didn't notice the injury until Sunday, when the owners picked him up.
"I just missed it and know it doesn't sound right, like anyone would, but I did, I just missed it,” said Carrasco.
Carrasco says the only possibility is the dog may have escaped to her horse's pasture and was kicked. But she didn't notice this Saturday night or Sunday morning when she let him out.
Brown says that's not good enough and has now filed a complaint with the Larimer County Humane Society.
