Man sentenced in crash that killed one pedestrian

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (AP) -- A 20-year-old man involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian at a Keystone crosswalk has been sentenced to six years with a community corrections program.

The Summit Daily News reports that Judge Mark Thompson sentenced Wesley Wilson on Friday for the crash that killed 33-year-old Mircea Basaram, of Romania, on Saint Patrick's Day. Wilson, who previously pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, was found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.

The Community Corrections program is under the umbrella of the Department of Corrections that restricts freedom, but does not put offenders in jail.

Thompson said "there is a need for punishment, but there is also a need for restoration" in Wilson's case.

Thompson said "there is a need for punishment, but there is also a need for restoration" SAY WHAT? Care to clarify on just HOW any Restoration on "Mircea Basaram's" life is possible. How does one go about RESTORING someones life that is no longer amongst the living, God REST HER SOUL.
