LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) -- Funeral services for the father and son storm chasers killed in Oklahoma are being held in suburban Denver.

Services for Tim Samaras and his son Paul are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mission Hills Church in Littleton.

They were killed Friday when a powerful tornado near El Reno, Okla., turned on them as they were conducting research. Their colleague, Carl Young, was also killed.

Tim Samaras lived in Bennett and was one of the stars of the Discovery Channel's "Storm Chasers". Paul worked with his father as a videographer.

The men's deaths in pursuit of the storm are believed to be the first among scientific researchers while chasing tornadoes.
