GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) -- A jury has convicted a Jefferson County man of conspiracy and accessory charges in the death of his estranged wife but deadlocked on a first-degree murder charge.

The verdicts came Monday in the trial of Daniel DeWild. He's accused of killing Heather DeWild in July 2003. She disappeared days before their divorce was to be finalized. Her body was found a month later.

DeWild faces up to 54 years in prison on conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and accessory to murder convictions.

The judge declared a mistrial on the first-degree murder charge. Prosecutors haven't said whether they will try him again.

Prosecutors say DeWild and his twin, David, plotted the killing together.

David DeWild pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and testified that his brother hung Heather DeWild.
