COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Colorado Springs police have arrested a man accused in a string of crimes that ended with him handing out money in a hotel lobby.
Police say a sporting goods store reported a man with a shotgun was trying to obtain another weapon Wednesday afternoon when a shot was fired. The man left after a struggle.
About 20 minutes later, a robbery of a bank was reported, followed by a report a few minutes later of a security guard blocking a man from entering a second bank.
Police then received calls that the suspect was throwing money out his car window.
Minutes later, another bank was robbed.
Police say the suspect then started handing out money in a downtown hotel lobby.
Twenty-six-year-old David Anderson has been arrested.
No injuries were reported.
