COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A Colorado Springs teenager has been charged as an adult in the slayings of a Fort Carson soldier and his wife.
The Gazette reports that 17-year-old Macyo January was charged Wednesday with four counts of first-degree murder and other counts.
January was arrested after Army Staff Sgt. David Dunlap and his wife, Whitney Butler, were shot and killed when they surprised a burglar inside their home on Jan. 14.
January is being held without bond at a Colorado Springs youth detention facility. He's due back in court Jan. 30.
Nineteen-year-old Jerel Couch is in custody on suspicion of being an accessory to murder in the case and of harboring a fugitive.
