Tire store closes, leaves customers spinning wheels

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) The doors are locked, store bare bones, and phone ringing off the hook with no answer or recorded message at Eagle Xpress in Grand Junction. There are no posted signs on the building either. The store sold Good Year, Dunlop, and Republic tires, and doubled as an auto service center.

If you bought tires at the store, there are several resources for you within just a couple miles of the store. Discount tires and Big-O tires say they both welcome you to stop by.

"We'd be more than happy to service those tires, we are a Good Year national dealer, so we can do any type of warranty work that those customers would need," says Tim Stewart, store manager at Discount Tire in Grand Junction. "We'll take care of them, receipt, no receipt, doesn't matter. They can bring their coupons with them; we'll still take care of them, says Matt McDonald, sales associate at Big-O Tires on North Avenue in Grand Junction.

According to the store's website, it was opened by Morgan and Cheryl Butcher. There isn't any information on the store's website about it's closing. It was located at 215 North 3rd Street in downtown Grand Junction.

Yep, and that place can't compete with the big franchises, Walmart/Sams, and internet tire sales. If they can't earn their business by auto repair, which should be their mainstay, they need to shut it down. There is no way any mom & pop type business can survive on tire sales alone. No way.

Another empty business in Grand Junction. Our self-anointed legend in his own mind pino should have toured the city to see how Obummernomics have failed.

On the other hand the tomatoes in my yard are growing really nice this year. I'll factor these both very relevant facts in my electoral decision.

This is another sign of the great Obama recovery, and that the private sector as he puts it is doing well.
