DENVER (AP) -- A Colorado State Patrol trooper is recovering after her patrol car was hit by a van while she was investigating a crash in Adams County.
The Denver Post reports Trooper Adeline Roybal was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 70 with her overhead lights activated when her vehicle was hit by the van at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday.
Roybal was taken to an Aurora hospital with serious injuries, but she has since been released.
The 40-year-old driver of the van also was hospitalized with serious injuries.
