U.S. patent office opening in Denver

DENVER, Colo. (AP) -- The other two metropolitan areas chosen are Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, and San Jose, Calif. The offices will be open by 2014.

Sen. Michael Bennet says the new office could bring hundreds of jobs. Bennet says the satellite office announcement will come from the Commerce Department.

An economic impact report prepared by Bennet's office and the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation predicts that the new satellite office could bring $440 million in economic activity over five years.
