GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The victim of a fatal accident Monday morning had a medical problem, according to the Mesa County Coroner.
The victim is Mark Ortiz, 42, of Grand Junction. The Coroner says he had a "natural disease process that rendered him unable to control the vehicle he was driving."
Grand Junction Police used laser mapping technology in an effort to figure out what happened. They say his SUV hit a curb, swerved to the other side of the road, hit some trees and rolled onto its side. Ortiz died at the scene.
It happened around 7:00 a.m. Monday in the area of 27 1/2 Rd., between Ridge Dr. and Cortland Ave.
