Weld County man gets 9 years for poisoning dogs

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) -- A Weld County man has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison for poisoning a neighbor's two dogs and intimidating a witness.

Prosecutors said 73-year-old Joseph Losinski fed strychnine-laced meatballs to a German shepherd and a chocolate Labrador in August.

Losinski pleaded guilty in October to aggravated cruelty to animals and intimidating the witness.

The Weld County District Attorney's Office said that Losinski was sentenced on Wednesday.

    I had my dog poisoned by a neighbor which gave her chicken soup with anti freeze in it and the person that did it, only had to pay a fine. She said that she though it would only give her a belly ache!

    What a JERK I'm not going to advocate that HE SHOULD BE poisoned, (all though I'm sure that some would feel that would be due justice) but maybe ALL his Prison Food should have such a BITTER TASTE to it, that it would keep him on the edge of expelling it with every bite. I think that would then be a daily reminder to him of just what a cruel thing it was he did.
