CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) Firefighters say they've done all they can do to contain the wildfire that burned about 500 acres in a rugged canyon near Canon City.
Only about 65 percent of the area around the Eightmile Fire is accessible and crews have built containment lines all along those portions.
A new fire started a mile away from the fire on Tuesday. Crews have built lines all around that blaze, the Phantom Fire. It's not clear how it started.
Crews will be patrolling that area with engines on Wednesday.
