Woman shot, killed in Denver area parking garage

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (AP) -- Police say a woman in her 20s was fatally shot in an apartment building garage in suburban Denver after an apparent struggle, and a person sought by police after the shooting has been found dead after a standoff with a SWAT team.

The woman was found Thursday morning at the Promenade Place Apartments in Greenwood Village near the Denver Tech Center. Authorities didn't immediately release her name.

SWAT team officers then went to the apartment of a 51-year-old man described as a person of interest in the shooting. After a three-hour standoff, they entered to find Robert Lewis dead with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head Thursday evening. Police say he was recently fired after harassing the woman at work.

Sure, because what are the chances that he was hiding behind a car and surprised her? I'm sure he would have given her plenty of time to pull her weapon out before he fired.
