COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Prosecutors say a Woodland Park police officer was justified when he shot and killed a Colorado Springs man during a traffic stop.

The 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office says the officer believed his life was in imminent danger when he shot 20-year-old Craig Bondo on Jan. 22.

Police pulled Bondo over on U.S. Highway 24 and learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Colorado Springs. Prosecutors say that as police were trying to arrest the man, he put his vehicle in reverse and struck the officer in the leg. The DA's report says Bondo was shot when he tried to hit the officer again with the vehicle.

The Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/XZElJy) Bondo was shot three times and died at a hospital.
