A Grand Valley Drainage District Board member will be elected Tuesday. The election comes on the heels of a controversial new fee from the district. A grassroots movement has been looking to recall board members.
“It's really devastating because we're 90 percent volunteer in this organization. All of the money that we use and raise goes toward our cats, and so when you take money from homeless cats, I just can't understand the thought.”
Starting with Gear Up and Fat Tire Festivals many people thought the City of Fruita’s Entertainment District would let you bring a beer out onto Fruita's main street, but it turns out, that just wasn’t the case for this summer.
The district is facing pending litigation with the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce joined with several other businesses, but now there is also a grassroots movement to recall several of the Drainage District’s board seats.
