The Grand Junction Tigers will host the opening two rounds of the 5A State Playoffs in baseball this weekend. The Tigers(17-3) earned the fifth seed and will host 28th seed Grandview Wolves (10-9) on Saturday morning at 9:30 at Suplizio Field.

The Fruita Monument Wildcats (9-8) drew the 29 seed and will visit fourth seeded Dakota Ridge (17-2) on Saturday morning at 10:00.

With a win the Tigers will turnaround to play the winner of the (12)Lewis Palmer vs. (21)Legacy game at noon on Saturday at Suplizio Field.

If the Wildcats advance they will play again on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 against the winner of (13)Regis vs (20)Monarch game.

The Palisade Bulldogs (13-6) enter the 4A State Playoffs on the road as the 16 seed against Evergreen (14-4), the 17th seed. That game is scheduled for Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Cherokee Trail High School.

The Delta Panthers (13-6) have the 20 seed and will face number 13 Pueblo South (14-5) at Niwot High School on Saturday afternoon at 12:30.

The Cedaredge Bruins, Olathe Pirates and Hotchkiss Bulldogs all play opening round games in the 3A State Playoffs on Saturday as well.
