Olathe Wins First Championship; Glenwood Leads in 3A

AURORA, Colo - The Olathe Pirates have never won a football state championship. Until today. The Pirates (14-0) completed a perfect season by defeating Erie 22-21 in overtime at Legacy Stadium in Aurora.

Erie was on offense first in overtime and scored a touchdown but missed the PAT kick.

Olathe turned to David Rhodes on their offensive possesion and he delivered. Rhodes moved the ball downfield and then scored from 2 yards out and Sergio Salazar made the PAT to give Olathe the one point win.

UPDATE:
Glenwood Springs defeated Fort Morgan 23-14 to win the 3A state championship.
