Pirates clinch 2A Western Slope title with 49-0 win

OLATHE, Colo. - (KKCO) The defending-state champion Pirates clinched the 2A Western Slope League championship with a 49-0 win over Basalt in Olathe on Friday night.

Olathe (9-0, 6-0) has now won 23 straight games.

Pablo Payan got the Pirates on the board first with a touchdown run in the first quarter. Kyle Piatt added a touchdown run of his own to make it 14-0 in the second.

The Pirates wrap up the regular season next week at home against Grand Valley (7-2, 4-2).
