GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The No. 5 Olathe Pirates could not find an offensive formula against the Rifle Bears as they were shut out 16-0.
Both teams were scoreless entering the half, but Rifle scored a touchdown in the third quarter, and added nine more in the fourth to come away with the shutout.
The Pirates fell to 1-2 with the loss, making it the second straight season they have started at 1-2. Last year, Olathe went on to win their final 11 games for the state championship.
Next week, Olathe will come back home to host Basalt on Friday at 7 p.m.
