GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- No. 8 Olathe took it to No. 9 The Academy in the first round of the 2A playoffs 43-13.
Olathe had a 14-7 lead toward the end of the second quarter when Ben Kaylor hit Carston Byers for an eight-yard touchdown. After a successful two point conversion, the Pirates went into the half with a 22-7 lead.
Olathe came out in the second half with the same results. The Pirates were unable to cash in a fumble, but after getting the ball back, they put another seven on the board.
The Pirates have the toughest task in the 2A next week as they will travel to No. 1 Brush.
