GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- After beginning the regular season with a 1-2 record, the Pirates are now 11-2 and headed to the 2A state championship game.
With a 10-game winning streak, the Pirates surge into the finals with all the momentum on their side. The No. 4 Pirates had to knock off the No. 5 Faith Christian Eagles and the top-seeded Florence Huskies in order to get here, and now they are one win away from winning their second state title in the last three years.
After an injury scare in the semifinals against Florence, senior quarterback Keifer Wollert says he is okay to play in his last game as a Pirate. For more on this story, click on the video link above.
