CLIFTON, Colo - The Central Warriors made the most of home-court advantage, winning all three of their games in the 2008 Warrior Challenge. The Warriors (3-0) defeated Bear Creek 75-54 in the final round of the tournament on Saturday. Clay Kame led all scores with 21 points. Sean Citlau scored 18 for the Warriors.
Central started the tournament by defeating Horizon on Thursday, then beat Douglas County on Friday.
The Fruita Wildcats got their first win of the season on Saturday. The Wildcats (1-2) were defeated by Bear Creek on Thursday and then lost to Carbon on Friday
In the final day of the tournament, Fruita got 12 points from Brett Nankervis and 10 each from Scott Miller and Chance Muller to beat Horizon 60-41.
Grand Junction opened the season with a loss before the tournament began, then lost to Carbon on Thursday and Bear Creek on Friday.
The Tigers (1-4) avoided an 0-4 start by defeating Horizon 52-34 on Saturday. Geoff Baldwin led all scores in the game with 17. Tyler Winder and Tommy Powers each had 9 for the Tigers.
The Palisade Bulldogs continue to search for their first win under new head coach Steve Phillips. The Bulldogs lost to Douglas County Thursday and were defeated by Horizon on Friday.
Saturday the Bulldogs (0-3) lost to Carbon 59-46. Jake Edmiston led the Bulldogs with 13 points. Fellow senior Jeremy Hayden scored 11.
