PALISADE, Colo. - It took eleven games before the Palisade girl's basketball team could pick up its first win of the season, but now that the lady Bulldogs have that out of the way the team's attitude has completely changed.

"Knowing that we can win we are going to go out and play to win, and not play to not lose," senior forward Holly Odneal said. "It gives us more intensity about our game."

Palisade defeated Steamboat Springs last Friday 41-37. But the most impressive part of the Bulldogs victory was the fact that the team scored more than half of its points, 22 to be exact, in the final quarter.

"Instead of walking out there scared and saying, 'Oh crap, here comes another loss,' It's we can come out here and win," senior guard Sarah Hays said.

Palisade's next game is on Friday, January 23 against Eagle Valley. The game starts at 6:00 p.m. at Palisade High School.
