DELTA, Colo - The Palisade boys and girls basketball teams both entered the season with new head coaches. Naturally, both teams got off to a slow start. But it appears they have finally turned the corner.

The Bulldogs boys got 24 points from Nate Yanez and Jeremy Hayden added 16 to lead Palisade to a 71-57 win at Delta Tuesday night. It is Palisade's second win in the last three games.

The Palisade girls got back to back wins for the first time this season, their third in the last four games. The Bulldogs were three points away from making it four wins in a row. Following their first win, Palisade lost a two-point heartbreaker at home to Eagle Valley. The next day they stomped all over Battle Mountain.

On Tuesday it was a closer contest, but the Bulldogs appeared in control the entire game, winning 57-42. Three Bulldogs reached double figures in scoring, led by Holly Odneal with 22 points. Kendra Barnes added 11 points and Sarah Hays scored 10 points.
