PALISADE, Colo - Palisade High School standout athlete Holly Odneal has commited to the University of Colorado. But she won't be playing ball. She will be running, jumping and throwing.

Holly has signed with the CU track and field team. She will be a heptathlete for the Buffaloes. The heptathlon is a combination of seven individual events; 100 meter hurdles, 200 meters, 800 meters, high jump, long jump, javelin and shot put.

The biggest change for Odneal will be year-round training she says. In high school track was a spring sport only. She played volleyball in the fall and basketball through the winter.

The University of Colorado's location was a major factor in Holly's decision. She said she wanted to stay close to home. When asked if she was a CU fan growing up, she laughed and admitted that her recruiting trip to the school was the first time she had been to Boulder, but was quick to add, "now I am a Buffalo."
