Grand Junction drops out of state rankings

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The last time that the Grand Junction Tigers weren't ranked in the state's top ten was October 18th, 2010.

18 straight rankings since that week have included Robbie Owens' Tigers.

That streak ended October 1st, 2012.

The Tigers, previously ranked eighth in the state, dropped out of the rankings after losing to unranked Fruita Monument 20-14 last week.

Elsewhere in the state rankings, the Palisade Bulldogs are still the No. 2 team in Class 2A behind No. 1 Rifle.

Those two teams are 10-0 combined this season, but one team will have a loss to their name after they meet up on Thursday at Stocker Stadium.

In Class 1A, the Cedaredge Bruins jumped up two spots to sixth after defeating Hotchkiss last week. Hotchkiss dropped from fifth to eighth.
