GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Palisade may have gotten off to a rough start against the visiting Steamboat Springs Sailors, but they finished on a winning note.
In game one of the doubleheader, pitching was a struggle early as the Bulldogs gave up 6 runs in the first inning, two of those unearned. Palisade's offense wouldn't come alive until the second inning when Andrew Bowles delivered an RBI double.
It was a much-needed wake up call that brought them back into the game. It would all come down to the final inning when Palisade trailed 11-10 only to put in two runs for the 12-11 win.
Game two was another close one but Palisade got away with an 11-10 win.
